You wait another hour. Still no reply from Sophie. The silence is deafening.
Your phone buzzes in your pocket, but it’s just a notification.
You decide to send a follow-up message, this time with a more direct ask:
> *"Hey Sophie, sorry to double-message! Just realized I might’ve been too vague earlier. I’m specifically looking into how Risk Oversight teams handle margin call delays, something you mentioned in your dedication post. If you’ve got 10 minutes for a quick call, I’d really appreciate it. No strings attached!"*
You hit send. The message sits there, **"Sent"**, **"Seen"**.
This time, the three dots appear almost immediately. Sophie is typing.
Your phone buzzes again, but you ignore it.
Then:
> **Sophie**: *"Oh! Sorry, I was in class. Yeah, I can do a quick call. But I’m not sure how much I can say, NDAs and all. You get it, right?"
Your pulse quickens. She’s **open to talking**, but cautious.
The hum of your laptop mixes with the distant sound of traffic outside. The air smells like stale coffee.

**What do you do?**
- **Schedule the call**: Get her on the phone and see what she’ll reveal.

- **Abandon Sophie**: This is taking too long, and you don't know if she will be the best bet. In addition, you don't want to take this risk of discussing live and showing your face to someone that could rat on you. It's getting too risky: what if she denounce you or is too suspicious? She will have your face on record. She is too linked to Isabelle Laurent and Marc Dubois. It's better to ghost her and move on.
